EfficiencyIT is delighted to share that we have been shortlisted for two major data centre industry accolades: the Data Centre Review Excellence Awards under the category "Intelligent Data Centre Project of the Year" and the Data Centre Solutions Awards under the category "Data Centre Sustainability Project of the Year". These shortlisting’s underscore our commitment to delivering sustainable and energy efficient data centre solutions that enable organisations to reduce power consumption while optimising performance.
Our collaborative project with the Wellcome Sanger Institute, a world-leading centre for genomic research and bioinformatics, played a significant role in these nominations. Through a close partnership with Schneider Electric, we implemented a data centre digital transformation initiative that combined EcoStruxure IT Advisor software with custom APC™ Rack Power Distribution Units (PDU).
By harnessing real-time data, and leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning, we helped the Institute achieve a 33% reduction in its data centre energy consumption. Additionally, we helped the Institute achieve a 50% increase in its computational output, demonstrating that operational excellence and sustainability can go hand in hand.
For EfficiencyIT, these award shortlistings highlight our long-standing commitment to driving impactful change in critical IT environments. Data centres should not only power the essential research and business activities of today, but chart a path to a more sustainable future.
Our collaboration with the Wellcome Sanger Institute provides a clear example of how a conscientious strategy, combined with sophisticated digitalisation, and continuous, iterative and measurable improvements over time, can deliver decisive decarbonisation and cost reductions.
For the DCS Awards especially, we are now requesting the support of our customers and partners, and if you believe, as we do, that this project deserves to win the "Data Centre Sustainability Project of the Year" category – please vote for us here.
In the meantime, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone involved in delivering this transformative project, including Schneider Electric, whose technology and expertise have been integral to our success.
We look forward to delivering more award-winning projects that advance critical life science, support high-performance computing (HPC), and help organisations achieve their net zero and energy efficiency ambitions everywhere.
